According to the PM, two of them were identified as possible perpetrators of the crime. With one of those approached, the police found a 38 caliber revolver with two cartridges already fired. The case was registered as a homicide, and the Civil Police will investigate the reason for the fight. GCM deputy commander, Igor Rafael Carvalho, reported that the Rural Patrol quickly arrived at the scene, but the victim had already been rescued. “People were scared due to the number of shots, but fortunately there were no huge number of injuries,” he said in an interview with EPTV Central, a TV Globo affiliate. After the crime, the suspects fled in two Volkswagen Nivus cars, one red and the other blue, towards the São Carlos region. GCM teams and the PM's Águia helicopter assisted in the searches. The four men were arrested at SP-310 and taken to the Rio Claro Police Station. After the incident, two of them, aged 43 and 40, were charged with murder; the other two, aged 24 and 29, for illegal possession of a firearm.
