Federal University of Rondônia, Unir Jaíne Quele Cruz/g1 A 24-year-old man, identified as Marcos de Lima Montenegro, was arrested late this Tuesday afternoon (28), suspected of participating in the robbery of a security guard at the Federal University of Rondônia (Unir). The arrest took place in a property in Vila Princesa, in Porto Velho, where the police recovered the stolen objects. According to the police report, the Military Police reached the suspect after receiving information from the intelligence sector that those involved in the crime were hiding in the region. During the approach, Marcos confessed to participating in the robbery and reported that the firearm, ammunition and ballistic vest stolen from the guard were hidden under his bed. The police searched the property and found a Taurus revolver, with five rounds of ammunition intact, in addition to the victim's ballistic vest. The suspect also said that he committed the crime with an accomplice known as "Rafael", but said he did not know where he was. Marcos was taken to the Central de Flagrantes. At the scene, the security guard immediately recognized him as one of the perpetrators of the robbery. g1 tries to locate the suspect's defense. The crime happened on Tuesday (28), while the victim was on a routine patrol. According to the Civil Police, the security guard was approached by armed men inside the university. After stealing the gun and vest, the suspects tied the victim and left him in a further part of the campus before fleeing. The case is investigated as a robbery. In a note to Rede Amazônica, Unir reported that there was no exchange of gunfire or damage to public property. According to the institution, the Federal Police (PF) was on site to collect evidence. The note also informs that the images from the block's security cameras were forwarded to the PF, which will be responsible for investigating the case. In a statement, the PF informed that the case is being investigated. Due to the confidentiality of the investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
