50-year-old man is found dead in São Carlos (SP) São Carlos in Toque A 50-year-old man, identified as Donizete Ferreira Leão, was found dead this Friday morning (17), after escaping during treatment at Santa Casa in São Carlos (SP). He had electrodes on his chest, which are normally used in heart exams, and a diaper. The cause of death is investigated by the Civil Police. In a statement, Santa Casa reported that the man fled twice and was advised about the risks. (See positioning below). ? Follow g1 São Carlos and Araraquara on Instagram The body was located on Avenida Eliza Gonzales Rabelo, in the Jardim Santa Paula neighborhood, in an area close to the Municipal Kartódromo. The Military Police and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called at around 8:15 am. The medical team provided assistance, but pronounced death at the scene. The area was isolated by the Military Police for technical forensic work.

The detail raises the suspicion that Donizete had undergone some type of recent medical care or cardiac monitoring before dying. A family member of the victim arrived at the scene and recognized the body. A niece of the man told g1 that he was in Santa Casa, as he was very short of breath, very weak and had an altered heartbeat. "He was sent by Samu to Santa Casa. He was going to undergo tests, they left him in isolation, but he escaped. How can a weakened person, with shortness of breath, leave a Santa Casa? I hope it doesn't happen to other people and they can pay more attention to patients", said Morgana Loppes.
