Donald Trump, President of the USA, holds a printed copy of one of his publications on Truth Social, on July 8, 2026 AFP/Saul Loeb Truth Social, Donald Trump's social network, revealed on Thursday (16) a paid service that will give banks and brokers priority access to publications from influential accounts. The American president owns the most important account on the platform. Named "Truth API", the service will be available on August 1st. With it, customers will receive publications more quickly from 10 accounts on the social network that tend to impact global markets. The Trump Media & Technology Group, which controls the platform, even discussed the possibility of charging US$100,000 per month for access, Reuters reported. According to the agency, the company offered a plan of US$60,000 per month for three-year contracts. The measure would be the company's first step in data licensing, opening a new source of revenue, although it has attracted criticism due to the advantage that privileged access can offer to financial operators.

The paid service will offer around-the-clock coverage of influential publications and give access to an archive of posts dating back to 2022, said Truth Social, which said it already has signed up customers. Trump often uses Truth Social to make announcements that resonate around the world and, in the opinion of critics, he would be turning his public decisions into a product. He is the platform's largest shareholder and will make direct profits from the new service. The American president used the social network to announce tariffs and trade restrictions on China, making the platform a crucial source for investors, companies and financial institutions. According to a spokesperson, companies have been collecting data from Truth Social for months, violating TMTG's terms of service. "We will create a lot of friction for those who don't come directly to us," McGurn said in a statement. Trump Media & Technology declined to comment on allegations that it seeks to profit from the presidency or whether Trump's posts will fall under the new rule.
