She was disoriented, had severe head trauma and had blood marks on her dress and genital area. Due to the severity of her injuries, the young woman was transferred to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she remained hospitalized for five days in a coma. In total, she was hospitalized for 19 days. Daniela told the police that her last memory before fainting was telling the accused that she did not want to have sex. The report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) also concluded that there was rape through physical force. The examination also showed that the victim started to present cognitive deficits after the crime, a condition that did not exist previously. The Alagoas Public Ministry (MPAL) reported that psychoactive substances were found in Daniela's body, including diazepam, phenytoin, haloperidol, nordiazepam and promethazine. According to the agency, one of these substances is known to be used in crimes of a sexual nature. A medical report from the Craíbas Municipal Health Department, obtained by the report, pointed out that Daniela suffered motor and cognitive neurological sequelae, in addition to developing post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, panic syndrome and depression.
