Piracicaba allows reporting of irregular waste disposal via the internet Residents of Piracicaba (SP) can now send photos and videos to the city hall to report cases of irregular waste and debris disposal. The measure is part of a new municipal law, published on June 2, which created the so-called “collaborative inspection” and also increased the value of fines by 50%. Now, punishments range from R$1,000 to R$3,000, depending on the type of waste. Small waste: R$1,000 Construction debris, furniture or bulky waste: R$2,000 Hazardous or health waste: R$3,000 If the offender is a legal entity, the fine can be increased by up to 50% (find out how to report it below). ? In areas close to Avenida Rio das Pedras, for example, sofas, mattresses, furniture, construction debris and tree branches are frequently discarded. The same problem was recorded near Ecoponto do Jardim Oriente, as shown in a report by EPTV, a TV Globo affiliate, last Wednesday (14). Despite irregular disposal in the surrounding area, the recycling bin was not crowded and still had space to receive construction materials, gardening waste and wood. How to report? ? The report is anonymous, and the resident's data is kept confidential, in accordance with the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD). To help with inspection, the resident must provide the full address of the incident, a reference point, the date and time of the irregularity and a means of contact. Images and information can be sent through three official city hall channels: Website: access the Piracicaba City Hall portal, click on icon 156, fill in personal data and the complaint; Telephone: call the Customer Service Center 156; In person: go to the Civic Center (Rua Antônio Corrêa Barbosa, 2.233 - 1st floor).
