MPTO investigates complaint that a psychologist was living inside a UBS The Public Ministry of Tocantins (MPTO) opened an investigation to investigate complaints that a psychologist temporarily hired by the City of Aparecida do Rio Negro, in the central region of the state, was using a Basic Health Unit (UBS) as her home and circulating in swimwear in the service area. According to the ordinance published by the MPTO, the complaint indicates that a room in the unit was reserved for the exclusive use of the professional during the night, from Monday to Friday. According to the document, the situation would have led to the reallocation of the space used to rest for doctors, nurses and technicians working on duty. ? According to the document, the justification presented was the search for saving resources, avoiding expenses with renting property to the server. The professional's name was not disclosed, and g1 was unable to contact her defense. In an interview with TV Anhanguera, the municipal secretary of Health, Carmelita Lima Tavares, contested the information. According to her, the professional does not stay at the UBS, but in an annex that operates 24 hours a day, with medical, nursing and emergency care. "It's not a residence, it's not a dormitory, it's a rest room like all the other people on duty have," he said. The secretary stated that the municipality sent documents and service reports to the MPTO and is awaiting progress on the case. According to her, if the responsible bodies understand that the professional's overnight stay is not permitted, the situation will be reviewed. The secretary disputes the allegation that the employee had been wearing a swimsuit in areas of the health center intended for patient care. "There is no such thing. She is a very poised person, this psychologist is a very balanced person, she would never do that", said Carmelita. Another point investigated is the supposed funding of the professional’s food by the municipality. According to the ordinance, the City Hall would be paying these expenses without specific legal provisions. According to the secretary, the city hall does not provide meals to the server, and the response was forwarded to the MPTO. In the MPTO's assessment, a public building intended for the provision of health services cannot be used as a residence or private accommodation by an employee who works regularly and does not work on duty. The body also assesses whether there has been improper use of the public structure and municipal resources. The investigation continues to determine the veracity of the allegations and investigate possible irregularities. See more news from the g1 Tocantins region.
