Rains in Alagoas: see what the forecast looks like for August The rains that started in the early hours of this Monday (3) in Alagoas are expected to continue throughout the day, but the tendency is for them to lose strength during the month of August, especially from the second fortnight onwards. ?Join the g1 Alagoas channel According to meteorologist Vinícius Pinho, the state is still in the rainy season, which normally ends in the second half of the month. Despite the forecast of reduced rainfall, Vinícius Pinho explained that the occurrence of more intense volumes at the beginning of the month is still considered common, as Alagoas remains within the rainy season. “From the second fortnight onwards, the month tends to become much drier throughout the state”, stated the meteorologist. According to him, the rainfall recorded during the current rainy season was below average. Compared to last year, the accumulated volume was around 50% lower. The month of July also ended with a volume of rain approximately 60% below what was expected for the period. According to Vinícius Pinho, the reduction may be related to El Niño, a climate phenomenon that interferes with the distribution of rainfall. "We have already been recording below-average rainfall throughout the region. This could indeed be a reflection of El Niño", he explained. Rains in Alagoas. Vitória Alcantara
