10-year-old boy dies after being hit by a soccer beam in Criciúma A 10-year-old boy died after being hit in the head by a soccer beam on Monday night (27), in Criciúma, the largest city in the south of Santa Catarina. The child was rescued by the Fire Department and taken to a health unit, but did not survive his injuries. The accident happened around 7:45 pm, in a sand field. Due to the severity of the condition, the boy was taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in the Rio Maina neighborhood, where doctors continued the care. Late Monday night, the municipality informed that the circumstances of the accident will be investigated by the competent authorities with the support of the administration.
