Pavel arrived at the racetrack on Saturday and worked alongside photographer Jiri Krenek, according to the website Motorsport.com. Equipped with a professional set, he recorded different moments of the weekend's programming.
The president's presence was highlighted on social media by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, who highlighted the personal nature of the trip.
"Do you know who this photographer I met at the Hungaroring is? It's Petr Pavel, president of the Czech Republic, on a private visit as a leisure photographer," he wrote.
Sports photography has been part of Pavel's routine for some time. In June, he was also at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with his equipment. The president usually follows competitions in different categories of motorsport and motorcycling, including Formula 1, MotoGP, Nascar and Dakar Rally.
The records he made during the 2025 edition of the Dakar, held in Saudi Arabia, were presented in an exhibition at the National Technical Museum in Prague, in March last year. The Czech Ministry of Culture described Pavel as a motorcycle, motor sport and photography enthusiast.
The interest in the images has also been used in a charitable initiative. Last year, the president auctioned a photo album and raised around 30 thousand euros. The amount was allocated to an institution that serves children, single-parent families and the elderly.
