Lula's allies say they are betting on a preventive initiative by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to curb artificial intelligence tools in the campaign, but the assessment of this political group is that there would be no way to avoid coordinated action.
In private conversations with allies in recent weeks, Lula reported evaluating the current electoral context as different from others he has faced because of the possibilities of foreign intervention.
The clashes have been fierce since the Argentine's performance at the PL convention last Saturday (25), which chose Flávio as a candidate for President.
This Monday (27), questioned by journalists, Lula avoided a direct clash, but mocked Milei. “Who is this guy?” he replied. The president of Argentina, in turn, shared a series of posts on social media criticizing the PT member.
Also on Monday, the Chinese government stated that it supports Brazil's efforts to preserve sovereignty and independence and oppose "external interference". The demonstration came after a phone call between Lula and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On Saturday, Milei expressed support for Flávio, who, according to him, can "stop Lula". In his speech, he also called STF (Supreme Federal Court) minister Alexandre de Moraes “bald trash”. The magistrate did not allow him to visit former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is under house arrest serving a sentence for an attempted coup.
Milei's speeches generated a crisis between the countries. On one front, Lula recalled the Brazilian ambassador to Argentina, an attitude considered radical in diplomacy. In another, Minister Mauro Vieira (Foreign Affairs) met with the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Raimondi, and expressed "disgust" at what he classified as Milei's "improperties".
