Palmeiras receives 300 thousand dollars (around R$ 1.5 million at current prices) for Luighi's loan. New York City FC has a $6 million (R$30 million) purchase option in the contract. If the club exercises this option, Palmeiras will retain 20% of the striker's economic rights.
The report found that both Luighi and Palmeiras understand that a transfer was the best option at this time. The striker made his professional debut for the club in 2024, but failed to score.
The striker was top scorer in the under-17s (22 goals in 21 games in 2023) and top scorer in the under-20s (19 goals in 36 games in 2024), but did not achieve the same numbers as a professional (45 games and just 5 goals).
Furthermore, two attackers from the under-20 team began to be observed more closely by the coaching staff. Heittor and Felipe Teresa are training with the professional squad this season.
He has been at Palmeiras since 2016 and has won official titles for all of the club's youth categories (from Under-11 to Under-20). The striker was frequently called up for the Brazilian under-17 and under-20 teams.
