"My moment in the Brazilian team, I think it's over. I made history there, I'm very happy. I experienced a lot of things there. I gave my blood, my life. I always fought and fought for hopscotch, but I don't think I want to anymore", said Neymar after Santos' 4-2 victory over Universidad Central, from Venezuela, in the Copa Sudamericana.
The striker had already announced before the World Cup that this would be his farewell. "It will definitely be the last. Either way." He ended his fourth World Cup with approximately one time played, a reflection of his first participation as a supporting player in the group.
