SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Striker Bolasie, from Chapecoense, was hospitalized after suffering an unusual injury among football players in the 0-0 draw with Cruzeiro, this Sunday (2), in the first game of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, at Arena Condá.

Bolasie suffered blunt trauma to the abdomen and was found to have an injury to the pancreas region. Chapecoense reported that the Congolese "remains hospitalized, under medical observation, and receiving all necessary care."

The shock happened in the first half. Bolasie collided with Cruzeiro's Kenji in the 46th minute, after trying to clear the ball from Chape's defensive area. He was substituted at half-time.

Chapecoense did not say how serious the case was and how long it would take to recover. The return game against Cruzeiro will be held next Wednesday, at 7pm (Brasília time), at Mineirão. The delegation has already embarked on its way to Belo Horizonte.

Bolasie has 25 games for Chapecoense this season. Announced this year, he scored two goals and provided an assist.
