All that remains is to exchange documents to sign the new bond, which will be valid until December 2028.
The contract will follow the "2+1" model. There will be an automatic renewal clause until the end of 2029, as long as Calleri plays for at least 45 minutes in 60% of São Paulo's matches during the 2028 season.
The renewal was unlocked after the attacker himself reduced his financial requirements. Before that, Calleri had rejected a proposal presented during Rui Costa's management and considered a second offer, already formulated by the interim board, insufficient.
Even with two pre-contract proposals from abroad, the Argentine prioritized staying at Morumbis and reached a common denominator with the board.
São Paulo's top scorer this season, with 12 goals, Calleri only had a contract until the end of this year and was already free to sign a pre-contract with any club outside Brazil. Now, the tendency is for the renewal to be made official in the next few days.
