Ask questions about the Move Brasil Program Move APPs, a new line of credit for financing cars at lower interest rates for app drivers and taxi drivers, reached R$ 1 billion approved, according to the balance released this Tuesday (14) by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The program financed new vehicles for just over 10,000 professionals across the country. The average value of financing contracted was R$102 thousand per driver. In total, 47 vehicle models, produced by 13 manufacturers, are eligible for financing under the program. For resources to remain available, financial institutions accredited by BNDES need to contract credit operations with drivers by September 15, 2026. Despite progress in hiring, the program has not yet had a significant impact on vehicle sales data. According to the president of the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), Igor Calvet, Move APPs, one of the program's modalities, began operating on June 19 and is still in its initial phase. According to Calvet, one of the factors that explains the lack of immediate impact on registration numbers is that coverage by the Investment Guarantee Fund (FGI), which guarantees up to 80% of financing operations, only came into effect on July 2. With the expansion of banks' participation and the full functioning of the FGI guarantee, the industry expects operations to grow in the coming months. Banco do Brasil is currently one of the main financial institutions responsible for operating the line, and the entry of Caixa Econômica Federal should expand the reach of the program. Anfavea expects the effects of the program to appear in vehicle sales statistics released in the coming months. The so-called BNDES export financing program for Brazilian engineering goods and services consists of contributions to Brazilian companies to perform services abroad. Getty Images What is Move Brasil and Move Motoristas? Move Brasil is a Federal Government program created to encourage the renewal of fleets used by transport professionals. Within this program is BNDES Move Motoristas, a specific financing line aimed at taxi drivers and app drivers who wish to buy new vehicles with different credit conditions. It is important to highlight that the two programs are not the same thing. Move Brasil is broader and covers different professional categories, while the financing operated by BNDES within Move Motoristas is aimed exclusively at taxi drivers and app drivers. Through the program, taxi drivers and app drivers can finance the purchase of new vehicles worth up to R$150,000, as long as the models are included in the official list of financeable vehicles and are produced by automakers qualified in the Federal Government's Mover Program. In total, there are 47 vehicle models from 13 manufacturers available for financing within the program. In addition to the value of the vehicle, financing may also include some additional costs, as long as they are contracted together with the main asset. They are: Vehicle insurance; Credit life insurance (type that covers the payment of installments in situations stipulated in the contract, such as death or disability); Security items designed to meet the needs of female professionals who work in passenger transport, limited to up to 10% of the total amount financed; Charge for Granting Guarantee (ECG), when the operation is guaranteed by the Emergency Credit Access Program in the guarantee modality (Peac-FGI); Costs related to the constitution, registration and endorsement of the fiduciary sale, including notary expenses provided for in the program regulations. Is it necessary to register? The program allows BNDES to contribute up to 100% of the value of financeable items. However, the percentage actually financed depends on the analysis of the financial institution responsible for the operation. BNDES Move Motoristas does not require mandatory down payment (down payment). If the bank requests any down payment, the decision will be based on the credit policy of the financial institution itself. How do I request financing from BNDES Move Motoristas? The financing contract process has four steps: 1. Registration in the program: The driver must register through the program's official platform, using a gov.br account. After analyzing the information, they will receive, within five working days, confirmation as to whether they are able to participate. Approval of the registration, however, does not guarantee the release of credit, which still depends on the analysis of the financial institution. 2. Choice of vehicle and request for credit Once approved in the program, the driver must look for a dealership that sells qualified vehicles and inform them that they wish to use BNDES Move Motoristas. It is also possible to request financing directly from the professional's relationship bank. 3. Credit analysis The responsible financial institution evaluates the driver's profile, considering factors such as financial history, credit limit and payment capacity. The bank is the one who decides to approve the financing, as BNDES does not carry out credit analysis directly. 4. Contracting the operation After approval by the bank, the institution forwards the request to BNDES for automatic validation of the operation. The program is in operation, but credit availability may vary depending on the implementation of each participating financial institution. *Text being updated
