Hospitalized, Luisa Marilac opens up and tells details of the infectious condition

The influencer and YouTuber said she was diagnosed with infectious cellulitis, a condition caused by bacteria that can worsen if not treated properly. Through a post on Instagram, Luisa explained that she remains under medical care and that she is not yet scheduled to be discharged.

The artist reassured her followers and stated that she is receiving the necessary support from the team responsible for the treatment. "My loves. I have cellulitis. An infectious condition. I'm in the hospital and, from what I understand, I'm going to be here for a long time," wrote Luisa.

The influencer also took the moment to clarify a common question among internet users. Despite the similar name, infectious cellulite is not related to the so-called aesthetic cellulite, known for changes in the appearance of the skin caused by the accumulation of fat and liquids. "Infectious cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the skin and the tissue just below it", explained the YouTuber.

The problem occurs when microorganisms, mainly bacteria such as streptococci and staphylococci, manage to enter the body through small lesions in the skin. Cuts, wounds, insect bites, ingrown toenails or even cracks can make it easier for bacteria to enter and cause infection.

Among the most common symptoms are pain, redness, increased temperature in the affected region and swelling. In some cases, the person may also experience fever, chills and feeling unwell.

The condition requires medical attention because, without adequate treatment, the infection can spread to other parts of the body and cause more serious complications. Treatment generally involves the use of antibiotics to combat the bacteria responsible for the condition.

Before confirming the diagnosis, Luisa Marilac's team had already informed followers about the influencer's hospitalization. According to the released statement, she sought care after noticing significant swelling on her leg, which had arisen as a result of ingrown hairs, in addition to changes in blood pressure.

Even with the initial concern, the team reinforced that Luisa was being monitored by doctors and receiving the necessary care. "Despite the scare, you can rest assured! She is already properly medicated, being very well looked after by the medical team and is still under observation", said the statement.
