RJ trains have sections suspended and delayed after strong winds

The winds hit the Southeast and caused deaths and a series of disorders in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In the state of São Paulo, three people died, in Rio, two people.

In the capital of Rio de Janeiro, wind gusts exceeding 105 km/h caused power outages. The storm also interrupted the circulation of the subway and trains, in addition to affecting the operation of airports.

This Thursday morning (30), the Japeri branch works partially with sections suspended. Circulation only occurs between Nova Iguaçu and Central do Brasil stations, with intervals of around 20 minutes.

Coronel advised the population to avoid unnecessary travel. People were also asked to avoid parking under trees, staying close to metal structures and situations that could increase the risk. In case of emergencies, the fire department must be called via number 193.

Subway operation is recovering. According to MetrôRio, around 7pm, the intervals on lines 1, 2 and 4 were in the process of being normalized. Earlier, the entire operation had been affected, and videos posted on social media showed passengers trapped inside unlit carriages.

Santos Dumont Airport suspended its operations for just over two hours.
