Police carry out mega operation against factions in 15 states and serve 93 arrest warrants

The action involves several investigations whose operations were launched simultaneously, and deal with suspected drug trafficking, money laundering and other crimes, such as theft of truck loads.

The warrants are carried out by teams called Ficcos (Integrated Forces to Combat Organized Crime), and the operation was called Integrated Force 3.

There were similar mega-operations in March, when another 116 arrest warrants and 174 search and seizure warrants were served, and in May, with 71 arrest warrants and 165 search and seizure warrants.

Civil, military and criminal police, municipal guards and the Federal Highway Police participate in the operation. Although the action is coordinated by the PF, there is no hierarchy between the institutions that work on the cases.

In Belo Horizonte, the removal of security cameras installed on public roads that were used to monitor the movement of police officers by factions was ordered.

The PF says that the investigation in the capital of Minas Gerais is investigating suspicions of involvement in drug trafficking, homicides, territorial control and possession or illegal carrying of firearms.

The warrants are served in Amapá, Acre, Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo.

The two actions in São Paulo, coordinated by the Ficcos of Campinas and Santos, investigate suspected robbery and cargo theft.
