The trail is in Salto das Orquídeas, in Sapopema, about 120 kilometers from Londrina.
She and a friend went on the route and had difficulty crossing a river with the support of a rope. They would have slipped during the crossing, being carried away by the current. Near this point there is a waterfall of almost 45 meters.
The friend, Ana Carolina Camilo, was found and rescued on Sunday (26) morning and taken to a hospital. But Ana Paula remained missing and firefighters began searching on Sunday afternoon.
The photographer was found this Thursday during one of the flights carried out with a drone in the search area. "The images captured by the equipment allowed us to locate the victim's body floating in the river," the Fire Department said in a statement.
"The place where the victim was found is between 150 and 200 meters in front of Poço Preto, close to a group of rocks. The reduction in the water level recorded in the last few hours contributed to the visualization of the victim", the note continues.
The Paraná Civil Police is investigating the case.
"According to the survivor's report, they were taking a walk with a guide and, at a certain point, the two left the guide aside and went on their own to a place that was difficult to access, trying to cross a river with a very high flow by rope", explained Fire Colonel Rafael Lorenzetto in a press interview on Tuesday (28). he stated.
Salto das Orquídeas is 3.5 kilometers from the center of Sapopema and has a set of eight waterfalls - the main one is 42.75 meters high. The place has infrastructure for camping and food.
In a statement published on a social network, the space's administration expressed solidarity with Ana Paula's family and friends and said that it is collaborating with the authorities in the investigation.
Friends of the photographer who had mobilized on social media to draw attention to the case and ask for support published a message this Thursday.
"We came to thank everyone who helped us in the search for Ana. Unfortunately, she was found dead. Thank you to the fire department, the entire rescue team, the volunteers, climbing, hiking, canoeing and many others who were there during those days, giving their all so that we could find Our friend", says an excerpt from the message.
