After the end of friendly negotiations with the Santos board, the player's staff filed a lawsuit this Wednesday (29) to request the termination of the contract, valid until December 2027.
In contact with the report, lawyer João Henrique Chiminazzo stated that the full-back tried to facilitate a friendly agreement, but accused Santos of suddenly changing the negotiated conditions.
"Mayke gave up a lot to make this agreement happen. We ignored the treatment given to the athlete and made all possible concessions to avoid a legal dispute. After days of negotiation, there was a consensus on the values. Surprisingly, when it was time to formalize, Santos presented a proposal around 25% lower than what had been agreed, in addition to modifying relevant conditions, stating that it was their final offer. Given the breach of trust in the negotiations, the filing of the action became inevitable", said the lawyer,
With the case in court, Mayke's staff is working to speed up the termination. The objective is to reach another team during the current transfer window, which remains open until September 11th.
