In a video published on social media, the former participant said that he called his doctor as soon as he noticed the bite. Reinaldo had already faced a widespread infection in 2025 and feared suffering a new complication.
"During the recap, I was bitten by a brown spider. As I already had a generalized infection and almost got dragged once, I sent a photo of my foot to my doctor on the first day of recording", he reported.
According to the biomedical scientist, the pain increased significantly the next day. Even though he was medicated, he was unable to continue in the competition and decided to purposely make a mistake in one of the tests to be eliminated.
Reinaldo also praised the support he received from the "MasterChef" production and stated that the bite almost caused him to have to amputate one of his toes. After leaving the program, he had to rest for a month to recover from the injury.
