SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - Jared Leto denied accusations that he had sexually harassed ten women between 2002 and 2016. "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These accusations are absolutely and categorically false," said the actor in a note sent to The Hollywood Reporter website.

Winner of the Oscar for supporting actor for "Dallas Buyers Club", in 2014, he also starred in productions such as "Fight Club", "Blade Runner 2049" and "Suicide Squad", in addition to being the lead singer of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars since 1998.

Reports of alleged sexual misconduct by the actor and musician were brought together in the documentary "Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret", produced by the BBC.

The work presents testimonies from ten women who claim to have had encounters between 2002 and 2016 with the Oscar winner, four of whom say they were minors at the time of the events narrated. The BBC says representatives were contacted and did not respond.

To date, there is no information on criminal charges or proceedings arising from the allegations presented in the documentary. This is not the first time that the artist has been accused of sexual harassment.

Last year, the Air Mail portal published a report with the account of nine women with situations that they describe as harassment, inappropriate approaches or episodes of sexual connotation that occurred when they were teenagers or young adults. At the time, Leto's representatives denied the allegations.

Among the reports now gathered by the BBC is that of a woman identified as Isabel, who claims to have been sexually assaulted by Leto in a Las Vegas motel in 2002, when she was 17 years old. According to her statement, she met the artist in a store where she worked and accepted an invitation to meet him believing that they would go to another location.

She claims that in the motel room, the actor forcibly kissed her and forced her to participate in a sexual act. Another interviewee, called Clara, reports that she had relations with Leto at the age of 17, in California (USA), and says she informed the actor that she was below the age of consent in the state. According to his report, he would have minimized the issue.

According to the BBC, part of the statements were corroborated through messages, photographs and reports from family and friends who would have been informed about the episodes at the time they occurred.

The documentary also hears from two former Thirty Seconds to Mars crew members, who say there was discomfort among staff regarding Leto's interactions with teenage fans, including invitations to dressing rooms and the residence where he recorded music.

The BBC identified more than 120 separate reports published online about Leto's alleged inappropriate behavior towards women.
