The information was confirmed by the artist's father, Joshua Hottle, in an interview with TMZ. According to him, the young woman suffered a serious accident and did not survive her injuries, dying during the journey to the hospital.
Joshua also announced his daughter's death in a live broadcast lasting around 23 minutes on social media. Using American Sign Language (ASL), he said he had to travel to Maryland to carry out the legal procedures related to the release of the body.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Kaylee was part of a family made up of several generations of deaf people. She began her artistic career at the age of 9, participating in advertising campaigns, including a public service announcement for a video calling application widely used by the deaf community and people with hearing impairments.
In cinema, she became known for playing Jia, a teenager who communicates with King Kong through sign language, in Godzilla vs. Kong. The success of the role led the actress to return to the franchise in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, released in 2024.
