After being hit, Micael was rescued and taken to the State General Hospital (HGE), but he did not survive his injuries. Other people who were at the scene were also shot during the criminal action.
Born in Alagoas and resident of the Jacintinho neighborhood, on the outskirts of Maceió, Micael was considered a football promise. In the first half of this year, he defended São Paulo's youth teams and won the Fictor Cup with the São Paulo club.
After his time at Tricolor, the young man returned to the capital of Alagoas, where he joined the under-15 team at Centro Sportivo Alagoano (CSA). The club mourned the athlete's death through an official note released on social media.
At the demonstration, the CSA expressed solidarity with Micael's family and friends, in addition to asking the authorities to conduct an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crime. The club also classified the murder as an act of extreme brutality.
The investigations are being conducted by the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Department (DHPP). Police chief Ueslei Lima was at the scene shortly after the crime to begin the first surveys and monitor the work of the police team.
According to the Civil Police, witnesses began to be interviewed this Saturday to help identify those responsible for the attack. The main line of investigation points out that the shots may have been carried out by members of criminal factions linked to drug trafficking.
According to preliminary information released by the police, Micael Leandro would not be the target of the action and would have been killed by mistake. The motivation and authorship of the crime continue to be investigated by the authorities, who continue to collect statements and gather elements to clarify the case.
The death of the young athlete caused commotion among family, friends and people linked to football, especially due to his recent trajectory in the youth categories of São Paulo and CSA.
