FGTS must distribute R$13 billion in profits to workers; understand who will be entitled

If approved, the measure will allow Caixa Econômica Federal to automatically deposit amounts into accounts linked to the FGTS.

You will not need to make any request to receive the credit. The payment will cover workers who had balances in active or inactive accounts on December 31, 2025.

The amount varies depending on the amount in each account on that date, which means that there will not be a fixed amount for all beneficiaries. The expected distribution corresponds to 89% of the profit recorded by the FGTS in 2025, estimated at around R$14.6 billion.

To estimate how much can be credited, the balance recorded at the end of 2025 must be multiplied by the index of 0.01868341, defined in the proposal presented to the Board of Trustees. The amount actually credited, however, varies depending on the balance in each account linked to the fund.

According to the proposal, the transfer will increase the profitability of the accounts to approximately 6.9% in the year, a performance higher than the official inflation of 2025, measured by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), which stood at 4.26%.

Since the decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the FGTS remuneration must guarantee, at a minimum, the replacement of official inflation, calculated by the IPCA.

The distribution of the fund's results has become a recurring practice in recent years. In 2025, R$12.9 billion were transferred to shareholders, while in the previous year, the distribution totaled R$15.2 billion.
