One of them was Faustão, who called Galvão an "extraordinary professional". "Whether you like it or not, you will have to reach another World Cup," said the presenter, who has been off television since 2023. "You are very competent, you have focus, and you will definitely surprise all of us, friends, fans, all the Brazilian fans... Health and happiness. 2030 could be different, you will be there."
After seeing the tributes, Galvão thanked them. As has happened on other occasions when he said he would no longer narrate World Cups, he did not want to say whether he would return in 2030.
"Guys, I wanted to thank you so much, I don't know what to say", he said. "I don't know in 4 years if I'll be here, I don't know how healthy I'll be. So I don't have to think about narration anymore."
"Me making a comment, presenting a program is a completely different thing", he assessed. "So let's leave it open and... God knows what he does. God knows what he does."
Galvão narrated 14 consecutive World Cups, most of them on Globo, where he left at the end of 2022. This year, he fulfilled this role on SBT and N Sports, which broadcast the tournament in partnership.
He entered the Guinness Book as the announcer who narrated the most World Cup games around the world, with 150 matches. Galvão is also the one who celebrated Brazil's goals the most in World Cups: there were 105 shouts celebrating the ball in the net.
