BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - Minister Flávio Dino, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), determined this Wednesday (15) that the presidents of 21 parties explain whether they have quotas, reserves or any other mechanism that allows them to decide on the fate of parliamentary amendments from senators and deputies.
Dino orders presidents of 21 parties to explain whether they have 'quotas' for parliamentary amendments

Dino's determination came after the national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, stated, in an interview with GloboNews, on Tuesday (14), that he and other leaders of acronyms with representatives in the National Congress interfere in the sending of amendments.
"It's logical. The president's job is to take care of the party," said Valdemar when asked about the topic.
In his decision, Dino demanded that party leaders explain the role of authorizing and deliberating on the use of amendments, the legal-normative basis that supports the practice of interference by presidents and the instrument through which decisions are formalized, for example, rules and minutes.
"Valdemar Costa Neto is a prominent politician and presides over one of the largest Brazilian parties, so his public statements deserve attention. If valid, they constitute a relevant novelty in these files, which, being processed since 2021, do not contain a record of this type of amendments to the General Budget of the Union, that is, amendments owned or 'ceded' to party presidents", wrote the minister.
Last week, the Federal Police identified actions by President Valdemar Costa Neto and former deputy Eduardo Cunha (Republicans) to manage the sending of these resources, even without a mandate. Both were targets of the PF and had assets blocked.
In the case of the PL leader, investigators claim that he indicated R$111.8 million in commission amendments in 2024. Eduardo Cunha, impeached in 2016, would have indicated R$6.1 million. Both deny wrongdoing.
