The August sky will have two eclipses. The first will be solar and will take place on the 12th, but cannot be accompanied by Brazil. The lunar eclipse scheduled for the night of August 27th to 28th will be visible in all regions of the country.

The Moon's passage through the Earth's shadow should begin around 11:30 pm. The moment of greatest coverage is scheduled for approximately 1 am, when 93% of the lunar surface will be covered, according to researchers.

As the eclipse will not be total, a small light band should remain visible at the top of the satellite. The Moon, therefore, will not be completely red during the phenomenon.

In addition to Brazilian territory, observation will be possible in other countries in South America, as well as in regions of Europe and Africa.

The solar eclipse on August 12th can be seen in places such as Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia and Portugal. The phenomenon will not be visible in Brazil.

How to follow the lunar eclipseObserving a lunar eclipse does not require eye protection equipment. Unlike what happens during a solar eclipse, it is safe to look directly at the Moon.

Before the phenomenon, it is recommended to check the scheduled time for the city where the observer is located. Locations away from buildings, tall trees and urban lighting offer better visibility conditions.

Binoculars and telescopes are not mandatory, but they help to monitor details of the lunar surface and the advance of the Earth's shadow. Since the process can last several hours, a chair or blanket can also make the experience more comfortable.

In total lunar eclipses, the Earth is positioned between the Sun and the Moon. When passing through the Earth's atmosphere, sunlight loses mainly its bluish tones, while the reddish luminosity is deflected towards the satellite.
