According to the investigation, the child was injured in the back during an attempted punishment. The father would have used the backpack to scold his son for disobedience, but the blades inside the object ended up hitting the boy.
Initially, the suspect presented another version to the police. He stated that the child had accidentally fallen onto a knife. During his testimony, however, he changed his account and admitted that he struck the blow with his backpack.
The man said that he had used the knives on a fishing trip the previous day and that he did not remember that the objects were still stored in the compartment.
The child received medical attention, but did not survive the severity of the injury.
After the confession, the father was arrested in the act. The Civil Police requested the conversion of the prison to preventive, and the suspect must undergo a custody hearing before being sent to a prison unit.
The circumstances of the death continue to be investigated by authorities.
