Young man is arrested with 16 kg of drugs in RJ-145, in Piraí Disclosure/Military Police A young man, aged 21, was arrested with 16 kg of drugs on Saturday night (18), in RJ-145, in Piraí (RJ). The case happened near Ponte de Cimento, in the Enseada das Garças neighborhood. According to the Military Police, agents received information about a car that was transporting a large quantity of drugs from Rio de Janeiro (RJ) to the city. The action had the support of the Federal Highway Police. Also according to the PM, during the PRF approach, the driver did not obey the order to stop and fled to a place where police were conducting a siege. Upon reaching the agents, a new stop order was issued and the suspect accelerated the vehicle towards the team. According to the PM, after searches, the vehicle was found hidden and abandoned at km 25, on RJ-145. Inside the car, 32 packages with 864 marijuana tablets, 40 packages with 2,400 crack rocks and 84 packages with 3,360 cocaine capsules were seized. The vehicle document and an additional R$34 in cash were also found. In total, 998.4 grams of crack, 5.787 kg of cocaine and 9.352 of marijuana were found. The Military Police also reported that while the incident was being registered at the police station, agents received information that the suspects, who occupied the car, were hiding on a street close to where the vehicle had been left. Officers went to the address and found the suspect, who was driving the vehicle. The other two suspects managed to escape and were not found. The suspect was taken to the Piraí police station, which is responsible for the investigations. He was charged with drug trafficking and is in custody.
