Woman is arrested for illegally selling weight-loss pens in Americana Images provided A 32-year-old hairdresser was arrested this Monday morning (20) after being caught illegally selling weight-loss pens at a gas station in Jardim Helena, in Americana (SP). The suspect was approached by police officers while trying to deliver the medication. According to the Narcotics Investigations Department (Dise), the investigation took place following a complaint about the alleged delivery of weight-loss pens at the station. During the investigation, the police identified a car used by the hairdresser and a closed group on a messaging application used to advertise prices and arrange deliveries. ? In the passenger seat of the vehicle she was in, the agents found a thermal box with four ampoules of the medication tirzepatide, used for weight loss. The woman confessed to having sold the weight loss pen for R$1,000 and reported that she kept other units stored in her home, in the Portal Bordon neighborhood, in Sumaré (SP). The police went to the residence and located another 18 ampoules of the medication and 39 syringes for administration. The items were seized, as well as a cell phone and a credit card machine. The woman was arrested for the crime against public health and taken to the Dise de Americana headquarters. The suspect was then taken to the Public Prison of Monte Mor (SP), where she remains at the disposal of the courts. According to Dise, the arrest is an offshoot of the "Meeting Point" operation, conducted by the Civil Police, which is investigating the irregular entry of weight-loss pens into Brazil, smuggled from Paraguay.
