When asked about the delay in delivering the work, the municipal health secretary stated that completion was delayed due to the installation of equipment and the completion of services. "There are issues regarding the work itself and also the delivery of furniture, appliances, materials and equipment, which depend on different companies," he said. Next to the new UBS, a building that will serve as logistical support for the Retaguarda Hospital is still under construction. The city hall expects to complete this stage by December. Hospital de Retaguarda Also this Monday, the city hall delivered the expansion of the Hospital de Retaguarda, a unit that works as support for the Municipal Hospital. With the renovation, the hospital went from 32 to 42 beds. According to the city hall, the unit will be used to receive patients during the next stage of the modernization works at the Dr. José de Carvalho Florence Municipal Hospital. The hospital director stated that the interventions will begin with the emergency room, whose structure was built in the 1980s. "The emergency room building is very old and needs adjustments. To carry out these works, we need areas to keep patients while the sectors undergo renovation", he stated.
