Fishermen are surprised by a puma while camping in Paraná A group of friends were surprised by a puma while fishing and camping at Prainha de Porto Mendes, in Marechal Cândido Rondon, in western Paraná. While fishing, the friend saw the animal and gave a warning cry. ? Didn't you bring the flashlight?' I said: 'What jaguar, man?' I shined the light on my cell phone and it really was a jaguar", he said, scared. Afterwards, Jean, his wife and son locked themselves inside the car and called the Military Police (PM-PR), who called the Water and Land Institute (IAT). "I was going to abandon everything [...] I picked up the car and said: 'Now I'm going to stay in the car and call the police'", he said. According to the fisherman, the IAT isolated the area and advised people there not to approach the animal. Shortly afterwards, the jaguar returned to the forest. Despite the scare, the two couples decided to stay at the camp.
