She said that her son, João Gabriel, was returning home when he was surprised by the animal. "When he saw that she was coming back, he tried to return, but he couldn't. That's when the calf hit him", he reported. Elaine described the moment of the accident as one of the most difficult of her life. "I saw my son dying. When I saw the calf running over him. Thank God she didn't step on him, it was just headbutted." Information circulated on social media that the animal had been slaughtered after the accident. The mother denied the rumor and stated that the calf was captured safely.
