Follow the g1 PR channel on WhatsApp The corporation reported that, at around 5pm, the Operations Center received two consecutive calls reporting that a woman was being attacked by her husband. During the call, according to the PM, the operator heard screams for help, which indicated an imminent risk to life. Based on this, teams from Rádio Patrulha Auto (RPA) were immediately mobilized to search two distant addresses. Officers searched and spoke with neighbors on both streets, but did not locate any victims or corresponding residences. About an hour later, a new call to the Operations Center reported that a 13-year-old teenager was in private prison, at gunpoint and suffering an attempted rape by her drunken stepfather. Given the seriousness, the police prioritized assistance and quickly moved to the address provided in the call. After tracking the calls, the police team found that the three calls were false. The corporation also identified that the teenagers – one aged 16 and two aged 12 – used their own cell phones to make false reports. The Guardianship Council was called to mediate the case, and the teenagers were sent, along with their legal guardians, to the Civil Police Station. The legislation classifies behavior as false reporting of a crime or misdemeanor, when a person provokes action from an authority by reporting an incident that they know did not exist. The penalty is imprisonment of one to six months or a fine. When the act is committed by children or adolescents, the conduct is classified as a very serious infraction, according to the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA). The false call occupies the line and takes time from Central attendants, who could be talking to someone who is really in need of urgent help, just as an ambulance that responds to a false call may be missing a real incident. Time lost between trips can be the difference between life and death for someone in a real emergency. VIDEOS: Most watched on g1 Paraná Read more news on g1 Paraná.
