Tattoo artist, real estate agent and musician Vinicius Roig, 47 years old, resident of Torres, was arrested preventively this Thursday (30), on suspicion of rape. According to the Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police, Roig was detained in Balneário Camboriú, on the north coast of SC. A report of domestic violence made by a teacher from Torres, on the North Coast of Rio Grande do Sul, brought other suspicious cases to light. After breaking off the relationship and sharing what she had experienced on social media, Michele Duarte received support from her ex-partner's sister. The publication triggered mobilization of other women. ? Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp Within a few days, a page created on social media began to gather reports from women who claim to have had a relationship with the same man. According to the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS), reports of physical aggression, humiliation, persecution, psychological violence and sexual violence are investigated. The MP has already denounced Roig three times for crimes committed against women in the municipalities of Torres and Sapucaia do Sul: the first complaint was filed on September 1st of last year. The second was filed on April 1st. The third complaint was presented on June 9 — according to the MP, the actions are awaiting analysis by the Judiciary.

"The public repercussion occurred now due to demonstrations and complaints published on social media. However, it is important to highlight that the Public Prosecutor's Office had already been acting on the case from the moment it became aware of the facts", says Torres prosecutor Márcio Roberto Silva de Carvalho. The MP's complaints According to the first complaint from the Public Ministry, on July 3, 2025, the person being investigated appeared in front of the building where the victim lived, in Torres, made threats and threw stones at the building, hitting the windows. According to the indictment, he stated that he would break all the windows in the apartment and kill the victim and another man he met with her. Psychological violence against women motivated the second complaint. As determined, the victim had been subjected to successive episodes of humiliation. The third and most recent complaint deals with the crimes of non-compliance with urgent protective measures, the crime of stalking and a new episode of psychological violence. The Civil Police are also investigating the case. According to the institution, there are 19 incidents in which Vinicius appears as a suspect in the last two years. There are records in Torres, Novo Hamburgo, Sapucaia do Sul and Cachoeirinha. ‘He’s the prince of my dreams’ Michele says that the relationship started in a way that seemed promising. "He opened the car door, which no one had ever opened for me, he was kind, very polite. With an elegance that you would say: he is the prince of my dreams." According to her, the relationship quickly turned into episodes of violence. “He destroyed my face. […] I looked at my body, full of marks, of bruises. All hurt, all over.” After ending the relationship, Michele decided to publish messages about domestic violence on social media — and filed a report with the Civil Police. The report caught the attention of Juliana Roig, Vinicius's sister. Juliana shared the story and stated that she believed in the teacher. After that, according to her, other women started looking for the page called Verdade Be Told. "We never imagined that things would take this proportion, because dozens of women began to emerge with brutal, very impactful stories." Public Ministry welcomes women The mobilization on social media caught the attention of the authorities. In Porto Alegre, the city where Vinicius also worked professionally, women were welcomed by the Public Ministry through Espaço Bem-Me-Quer. According to Carla Frós, coordinator of the MPRS Victim Assistance Center, some women reported episodes that occurred decades ago and decided to seek out the authorities after following the mobilization. "We have victims who, from that first complaint, from the creation of this page, were then able to report and file a report." The Prosecutor's Office carried out a survey of suspected cases against Vinicius. In addition to the reports published on the page, previous records were consulted. "There are more than 20 victims in this first moment. Not only based on the reports on the Instagram page, but also in consultation with all the history, previous records against him", says the prosecutor. Civil Police investigate suspected rape In Torres, the Civil Police opened an investigation against Vinicius on suspicion of rape against his last ex-partner. Delegate Marcos Veloso states that the work, at this moment, is to gather evidence and listen to the women who contacted the authorities. "We need to welcome these victims in the best possible way so that they remember these stories that are very difficult for them, but we need to ask some questions to properly initiate police investigations." Investigated person disputes information On social media, Vinicius published a text in which he claims to recognize that there are events that need to be faced seriously. At the same time, he says that much information that began to circulate does not correspond to reality, presents distortions or was taken out of context. He also filed a complaint against the women for slander and tried to take the page offline through legal action. The court denied the preliminary injunction. In the decision, the judge stated that the statements published on the profile were not produced "in a vacuum" and that there is "concrete factual substrate" that supports them. Civil Police investigations continue, and the Public Ministry follows the reports presented by the women. For Juliana, mobilization is not revenge. "We don't think about revenge. We think about justice. Because this has to be stopped." Michele, who has a protective measure against Vinícius, says she never imagined the story would reach social media. Now, it's
