The approach took place at km 293 of the highway. According to the PRF, the equipment was being transported in a pickup truck, with a Duque de Caxias (RJ) license plate. The driver reported that the machine was handmade and said that he did not have the invoice because the manufacturer had not yet sent the document. According to the PRF, the agents waited for more than an hour for the invoice to be presented. Furthermore, the document indicated origin in Maranhão and destination in Minas Gerais, while the driver stated that he had picked up the machine in Rio de Janeiro to deliver it to Minas Gerais. Faced with the inconsistencies, the PRF called an auditor from the State Revenue Service.
