Elderly woman is victim of attempted scam worth R$100,000 in Paulínia A 75-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted scam at a bank branch in the center of Paulínia (SP), this Thursday (6). One of the suspects, 48 ??years old and resident of Sumaré (SP), has more than 60 police records. The other is 40 years old and lives in Nova Odessa (SP). According to the Municipal Guard, the victim was approached by a man who claimed to have a letter of credit worth R$300,000. The suspects said that the amount would be divided between them and the elderly woman, who would receive R$100,000. Convinced by the pair, the woman headed towards a bank branch. On the way, however, he met a tenant, who became suspicious of the situation. She decided to accompany her to the bank and called the Municipal Guard. Upon arriving at the scene, the guards found one of the suspects at the entrance to the agency and the other on a side street. During the approach, the alleged letter of credit used in the scam, two cell phones and the vehicle used by the duo were seized. The two men were arrested red-handed and taken to the Paulínia Police Station.
