Defense of Flávio's deputy asks PGR to speed up DNA examination that would rule out rape suspicion

The deputy's genetic material was collected on April 23, following a first instance court decision in Alagoas, which responded to a request from the parliamentarian himself. The defense told the PGR that scientific evidence is what will demonstrate that the suspicion is "false, unreasonable and outrageous".

A similar request will still be made to Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court). Gaspar's legal team wants the magistrate, rapporteur of the investigation request made by the PF (Federal Police), to set a deadline of 72 hours for the exam to be carried out.

The PF forwarded it to the Supreme Court after federal deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) and senator Soraya Thronicke (PSB-MS) presented a criminal report against Gaspar, requesting that the suspicion of rape be investigated.

Gilmar sent the request to the PGR, which is responsible for requesting the formal opening of an investigation against authorities with special jurisdiction. Before defining its position, however, the body asked for steps. One of the measures was directed to the senator, so that she could provide more information about the accusation.

The government parliamentarians claim that there are "documentary records and conversations" that indicate, in theory, "the practice of the crime of rape of a vulnerable person against a girl who, at the time of the events, was 13 years old". According to Lindbergh and Soraya, a child was born from this supposed relationship.

This Thursday (6), Gaspar told journalists that this was a "criminal attack" carried out by his opponents at a time when he was acting as rapporteur for the mixed CPI (parliamentary commission of inquiry) of the INSS (National Social Security Institute).

"What happens to a good citizen with the most infamous crime that can be attributed to a man of honor? Indignation. I vehemently refute it. It is a criminal accusation. And how do you refute this? Scientifically", stated the candidate for vice president.

"Gilmar doesn't even like me, he's a person who doesn't look kindly on me because at the CPI I criticized the STF, but I have the greatest respect. The case is in the hands of the right person, he's the dean of the court, and I'm entirely at his disposal."

In the same meeting with journalists, senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), coordinator of Flávio's campaign, said that the party's political strategy to deal with wear and tear will be "the truth". "We want this sword placed on our candidate's head to be removed."

Lawyer Maria Cláudia Bucchianeri, who represents Gaspar, said in the request to the PGR that the DNA test is decisive evidence to bury these allegations. "The genetic link is the only objectively verifiable element. It does not depend on anything - not on version, not on witnesses, not on convenience. He is what he is."

The general legal coordinator of Flávio and Gaspar's campaign says she will request hearings with Gilmar, the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, and the Director General of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, to address the issue and seek archiving.

Due to the episode, Gaspar sues Lindbergh and Soraya for slander, slanderous denunciation, insult and coercion during the process. The deputy stated that he is not open to accepting a possible retraction and that he will "go to the end" with this action.
