In total, three residences located on Rua Tibúrcio Secati, in the Jardim Flamboyant neighborhood, were isolated after evaluation by Civil Defense. The structural problem began after a failure in the road's sewage network, which is the responsibility of the São Paulo State Basic Sanitation Company (Sabesp). According to affected residents, the damage appeared suddenly on Tuesday (7), accompanied by a strong smell of sewage inside the homes. With no prediction of when they will be able to return, families are temporarily sheltering in the homes of relatives and neighbors. Caregiver Simone Mendes reported being shocked when she noticed the cracks in the structure. "I ran out, right? It was a fear of falling, fear of getting hurt. I couldn't stay. My uncle and I were inside the house. I started to notice some loud noises. When I went to look at my kitchen floor, the sewage had all gone back into the house and started bursting", he said. Juliana Conceição, monitoring assistant, said that she has lived there for five years and that the situation quickly worsened, even affecting the floor. "Over a while ago, there started to be some lighter cracks, nothing abrasive. But since Tuesday the cracks started to get bigger. Sabesp carried out emergency work on the sewage network, which was completed on Wednesday (8). The company informed that technical teams will return to the site to analyze the damage and check if it is related to the leak. If confirmed, the company states that it will carry out the necessary repairs as quickly as possible. Paulínia City Hall stated that the affected families are being monitored by social assistance. He also reported that engineers from the Department of Works were called to assess the damage. The municipality reinforced that the repair of the sewage network is the responsibility of Sabesp.
