What the city council says In a statement, the Nova Friburgo City Council informed that the construction of the new bridge will continue and will be completed according to the municipal administration's planning. According to the municipality, the structure's pillars have already been concreted and, at this moment, the work is in the bridge abutments execution phase, a stage that connects the structure to the headwaters. The city hall also stated that the temporary bridge received structural reinforcement to guarantee traffic during the execution of the work and that the change in leadership of the Subprefecture of Lumiar and São Pedro da Serra does not interfere with the schedule of services, which are now carried out by the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Works.
