Energy theft in Porto Velho Reproduction/Energisa Two cases of energy theft were detected in less than 24 hours in Porto Velho. The irregularities were found in a high-end condominium, in the South Zone of the capital, and in a dental clinic, in the Central region. The names of the locations were not disclosed. The examination was carried out by the Technical-Scientific Police (Politec), which confirmed the fraud at both addresses. The Military Police were then called to monitor the incidents. At the condominium, the resident was arrested red-handed and taken to the Flagrantes Center. According to Daniel Andrade, loss manager at Energisa Rondônia, this type of fraud represents risks for the entire population. In addition to causing financial losses, the practice can cause fires in the electrical network, system overload, electric shocks and a drop in the quality of energy supply. Energisa informed that it will intensify inspections throughout the state.
