Violence and child sexual abuse: find out how to report it The Civil Police reported, this Friday (10), that they concluded the investigation into the case of the 13-year-old teenager raped by her own father in Hortolândia (SP), and also indicted the victim's mother. The father was arrested red-handed, on June 28, after the teenager recorded the abuse with her cell phone, during a Brazilian team match at the World Cup on the 24th, and handed the content over to the police (remember below). The police reported that the Public Ministry (MP) filed a complaint against the teenager's parents, who will face legal action for the facts. Mother indicted for rape The main update in the outcome of the investigations, conducted by the Hortolândia Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), is the criminal liability of the girl's mother. Initially investigated, she has now been formally indicted for rape of a vulnerable person in the improper form of omission. According to the Civil Police, the law determines that the mother occupied the "legal status of guarantor". This means that she had a legal duty of protection, supervision and care towards her daughter. At the beginning of the investigation, the teenager told the police that she had already contacted her mother about the abuse suffered at home, but that the woman did not believe her. According to the police, the mother will be released, but protective measures were issued in favor of the victim against her parents. Father remains in prison The victim's father, a 38-year-old man, remains in pre-trial detention. He was arrested on June 28, after the girl managed to escape from the family's residence, in Jardim Primavera, and look for help. At the time, the man resisted arrest. The case One of the latest abuses occurred on June 24, the date Brazil was playing in the World Cup. To prove what she was suffering, the teenager recorded her father's action. The audio file, which was handed over to the police and attached to the investigation, shows the sound of the football match broadcast in the background, while the victim says phrases such as "I don't want it anymore" and "it hurts". From the day her father was arrested, the Guardianship Council ordered the young woman's immediate removal from her mother's life. The teenager underwent examinations at the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Americana (SP) and was handed over to the care and protection of her grandmother.
