Between January and June this year, 64,119 new actions were registered, compared to 56,644 in the same period in 2025. A worker, who preferred not to be identified, said that she was hired by an outsourced company to work as a cook, but, during the trial period, she began to perform other functions. She stated that, at first, she believed that the change was part of a test, but realized that the situation was also experienced by older employees of the company. ? According to the worker, the intense routine caused health problems that culminated in a labor action. “I’ve already had two surgeries and I’m going to have the third soon,” he said. According to TRT-11, the case is not isolated. The court's survey indicates an increase in the number of labor lawsuits in the state. Between January and June 2025, 56,644 cases were filed. In the same period of 2026, this number rose to 64,119, an increase of 13%. Main causes of actions The most frequent requests in labor actions registered in the first half of this year were: Severance pay: 4,342 processes; Indirect termination: 3,791; Compensation for moral damages: 3,156; FGTS: 2,728; FGTS fine: 2,717. According to TRT-11, the worker does not need to wait until they leave the company to go to court if they identify non-compliance with labor rights. Labor judge Carla Nobre highlighted that the filing of a lawsuit cannot generate any type of retaliation. "You cannot make a note in your employment record, blacklist employees or provide negative references because of the process. If this occurs, the situation becomes even more serious", he explained.
