The decision was taken during a convention held this Saturday (25), in Porto Velho. Expedito Netto has a degree in law, is active in national politics and was elected Federal Deputy for Rondônia in 2014, serving two consecutive terms. Other candidacies approved at the convention: Luiz Carlos Teodoro (PSOL) for vice-governor; Luciana Oliveira (PT) and Aires Mota (Green Party) for the Senate. During the official candidacy, Expedito Netto stated that he intends to present an alternative government for Rondônia. According to him, the group that supports him is prepared to contest the elections and defended investments in areas such as public security, health and education, in addition to valuing civil servants. "We have a group formed, a group that is ready to fight, that wants to win the government and give the population the opportunity to have a different government. [...] Who knows, if we invest in public security, public health and education, we will not be able to change not only our municipalities, but also our state and our country", he stated. The Brazilian Federation of Hope, made up of the Workers' Party (PT), the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) and the Green Party (PV), and the PSOL-Rede Federation, made up of the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL) and the Sustainability Network, formed a coalition. :

Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy. Expedito Netto's trajectory Expedito Netto is active in national politics and was elected federal deputy for Rondônia in 2014, serving two consecutive terms. In 2022, he tried again for the position of federal deputy, but was not elected. The following year, he assumed the position of National Secretary of Industrial Fisheries.
