After three and a half years in office, the former governor of Acre Gladson Camelí (PP) and the current governor, Mailza Assis (PP), fully fulfilled nine of the 36 promises made during the 2022 electoral campaign, according to a survey by g1. The Politicians' Promises project, by g1, monitors the fulfillment of commitments made by candidates for mayors, state governments and the Presidency of the Republic. Gladson Camelí left office in April to run for Senate in 2026. The current governor is a pre-candidate for a new term. At this stage of the project, the survey considers a balance of what was delivered between January 1, 2023 and June 30, 2026, a period equivalent to three and a half years of office. Of the 36 commitments made by the then candidate in the 2022 elections: 9 were fully fulfilled 5 were partially fulfilled, still pending 22 commitments have not been fulfilled to date. Monitoring of politicians' promises has been carried out by g1 journalists from all over Brazil since 2015. According to management, the Alfabetiza Acre Program, which ensures literacy for children up to the 2nd year of elementary school, was created for this purpose. Students have regular school transport and the state school feeding policy, reinforced by Prato Extra. Revitalizing the Floresta Library In March this year, the Floresta Library was reopened after six years of construction and an investment of more than R$4.4 million. The building was revitalized with improvements to the structure, modernization of systems and expansion of public-facing spaces. The new structure houses the headquarters of the Climate Change Institute (IMC). Recognized for bringing together a specialized collection on topics related to the Amazon, the Biblioteca da Floresta was opened in 2017 and has more than five thousand titles, including books, newspapers, academic research, films and CDs. Create two reference centers for Youth and Adult Education The government did not create two new Reference Centers for Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in the municipalities with the greatest demand. Currently, Acre has only one exclusive center for EJA, which is the Youth and Adult Education Center (Ceja), in Rio Branco. What the government says: The strategy adopted by the State Department of Education and Culture (SEE-AC) prioritized the expansion of the EJA offer throughout the network, enabling young people, adults and elderly people to resume studies closer to their locations. Create the state system of museums The government promised to implement, through state decree, the museum system for managing memory spaces, in line with the State System of Culture. The promise is contained in the government plan. The commitment was not fulfilled. Currently, museums in Acre are managed by the Elias Mansour Foundation (FEM), which signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram), between 2024 and 2025, within the scope of the Reconexões Program. What the government says: It argues that, during negotiations to implement the program, the institute highlighted that a specific law is not mandatory to create a state system of museums and that this can be done as long as memory spaces are provided for in other standards. It emphasizes that FEM is working to include these spaces in the update of the Heritage Law, scheduled until 2027 and that it awaits the next technical steps, whether to update the law or implement the State Museum System. Revitalize the Plácido de Castro Theater The space has been closed for more than five years and is still undergoing renovation. The last forecast was that it would be delivered at the end of 2025, but nothing has been done until then. What the government says: It claims that the works are ongoing and drainage services are being carried out on the land, restoration of the facade and improvements to ramps and accessibility to improve the best conditions for artists, cultural workers and the general public, preserving the original architectural characteristics of the theater. Take a competition for the Criminal Police The competition was launched in June 2023 with more than 300 vacancies. Of this total, 280 have already been called up. The last inauguration of those approved took place in May this year, with another 11 criminal police officers, a specialist in criminal execution and two administrative and operational technicians. Calls continue within the legal deadline: for administrative positions, until March 2027, and for criminal police officers in September of the same year. Implement the police station specializing in environmental crimes Created in 2019 with the aim of investigating environmental crimes in Acre, the Environmental Crimes Police Station (Decam) was regulated through Ordinance No. 07 of September 23, 2024, but was not implemented as promised by the government. What the government says: Only investigations are carried out by the police stations where complaints are registered and the Civil Police Intelligence Department supports the procedures and each case is handled by the unit responsible for receiving the complaint. Create more police stations specialized in assisting women The government did not increase the number of police stations specialized in assisting women in the three and a half years of Gladson Camelí's administration.
