Charles Ferreira Costa Gomes was traveling from Almenara to attend the birth of his wife, who was pregnant with twins, when the car he was driving collided head-on with a trailer. The truck was traveling in the opposite direction when the head-on collision occurred. Soon after, the motorcycle, which was traveling along the highway, was also involved in the accident. The driver of the motorcycle was rescued in serious condition, while the passenger suffered minor injuries. Charles Ferreira Costa Gomes was married, had completed higher education, worked as a criminal police officer in Almenara and traveled to Teófilo Otoni to attend the birth of his children.
