Partnership in Nova Friburgo seeks to encourage young people to stay in the countryside

The initiative also aims to reinforce Alternation Pedagogy, a methodology adopted by the school, in which students divide their time between classroom activities and the application of knowledge on family properties. The objective is to bring training closer to the reality of the countryside and encourage young people to remain in rural activity. In addition to qualifying students, the cooperation foresees the creation of a working group to define an action plan aimed at technical assistance, regenerative agriculture, innovation, rural extension, sustainability, strengthening family farming, fishing and aquaculture. During the meeting, the management of Escola Agrícola Rei Alberto I presented the trajectory of the institution, recognized for training young people through Alternation Pedagogy. The model integrates school, family and community and seeks to contribute to increased productivity, improved property management and family succession in rural areas. Emater-Rio will provide technical guidance to students, develop projects, implement demonstration units and share experiences in different regions of the state. The partnership also foresees greater integration between the school and CENTERJ to expand practical activities and the dissemination of technologies aimed at sustainable development. Fiperj will contribute to actions in the areas of fishing and aquaculture, offering training and technical support to diversify production and strengthen strategic production chains. According to Sedipaf, the initiative is part of the strategy to strengthen public policies aimed at sustainable regional development, with a focus on rural education, technical assistance and the permanence of new generations on family properties.
