Registration is now open for the national campaign 'Meu Pai Tem Nome' in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. The appointment must be made on the State Public website by July 30th. Promoted by the state institution, the action aims to guarantee the right to recognition of parentage and strengthen family ties. For the test to be carried out, the agreement of the parties and the presence of the mother and supposed father are necessary.

The project will also receive demands for recognition of paternity in cases where the alleged father does not agree to appear. In these situations, interested parties may initiate legal proceedings with the assistance of the Public Defender’s Office. Legal guidance The Public Defender's Office will also provide legal guidance, promote settlement attempts and deal with cases in which the supposed father has died. In these situations, the investigation may be carried out through DNA testing with other biological family members, as assessed by the institution. The national initiative is coordinated by the National Council of Public Defenders and General Public Defenders (Condege).
